It’s About the Journey

It’s about the journey.

I’ve heard this saying more times than I can count, and only recently is it beginning to ring true.

It doesn’t matter if the cake tasted good. The point is you baked a cake.

It doesn’t matter if your painting looks terrible. The point is you created a work of art.

It doesn’t matter if you didn’t get the job. The point is you tried.

It doesn’t matter that you didn’t finish first in the race. The point is you ran.

It doesn’t matter that you didn’t burn 500 calories at the gym. The point is you went.

It doesn’t matter … the point is … enjoy the journey. The journey is where the happiness happens, and if all we are ever reaching for is the end goal we’re going to be sorely disappointed when we reach it.

Enjoy the journey while it lasts, and enjoy the song while it plays.
